I put 8 cups of milk in the crockpot and cooked it on low for 2 1/2 hours. I checked it at that time and turned it off and let it sit for 3 hours. After 3 hours I took 2 cups of milk out of the crockpot and combined it with 1/2 cup of live culture yogurt (Greek) and mixed back in crockpot with other milk wisking well. I put the covered crockpot in thick towels and let it sit over night. This morning my yogurt was same consistency as my first batch but not as bitter. Not sure if it's the Greek live culture yogurt that made it taste a little less bitter or that I let it sit over night. Anyway, I added blueberries and I think it came out very good! I know in the future I will be making my own yogurt rather than buying it from the store. I never knew it was so easy to make and it's much cheaper than buying it at the store.

I decided to cut my recipe in half so I added 4 cups of milk to the crockpot turned it on low and let it cook for 2 1/2 hours. I went back to check it after that time and realized the crockpot wasn't on. Now I don't know if I turned it off and didn't realize it or maybe I thought I turned it on and never did. Because I was unsure I decided to discard the milk and try again another day.

Put 8 cups of milk in crockpot on low for 2 1/2 hours, (Didn't really change the looks of the milk) then I turned the crockpot off and let it sit for 3 hours. I then took 2 cups of the milk out and mixed it with 1/2 cup of live active culture yogurt wisked it well and added it back to the crockpot. I wrapped the crockpot in heavy towels and let it sit for 16 hours. (was supposed to sit for only 8 hours). Even though it sat double the time it was still fine. End result: A little bitter but it was the consistency of yogurt you'd buy at the store. Added blueberries and that took away some of the bitter taste. The yogurt was actually very tasty!
